I posted this analysis because I learned from it and now use the knowledge I have gained from this when I am analyzing other poetry. The string of negative connotations in lines five and six serve to furthur carry out a dog’s expected behavior. On one hand a hawk is enjoying nature and it’s gifts and on the other a dog is criticizing human behavior and using sarcasm to display innapropriate stereotypes.
